Ruby Eyed White

Genetic code (??)(??)(cc)(??)(??)

Throw a white sheet over a colored rabbit and you get rew....well, not exactly, but the results are the same. Looking from the outside you see a white rabbit, your not able to see what color the rabbit really is under the sheet. REW/albino are just colored rabbits that have inherited two (c)genes. When paired (cc), all color development is restricted.

Your rabbit may have the genetic code (AA)(BB)(cc)(DD)(EE)........but all you get to see is (??)(??)(cc)(??)(??) because (cc) masks the rest. This masking is one of the reasons it is so hard to say exactly what color you should breed with Rew's.

Rew is the most highly developed, most widely mixed color in Dwarfs. Rew bred to REW is a safe choice. Two REW bred together can only produce more Rew. They will never produce a colored offspring.

Breeding Rew to colored animals presents more of a challenge. Test breeding can be done to determine the true genetic color of the Rew. Rews are often crossed into other colors with mixed results. While type is often improved, stray hairs, white spots, and mismatched toe nails can plague offspring for many generations.
