The Dwarfing Gene

Dwarfs have one of three different combinations of dwarf genes.

They are:

1. [(Dw)(Dw)] = Lethal "Double Dwarf" commonly called "peanuts".

2. [(Dw)(dw)] = True Dwarfs

3. [(dw)(dw)] = False Dwarf, oversized body and ears

Each parent contributes half of the genetic set ( ?? ?? )

With this in mind we can predict what percent of the offspring should be in each group. This is done by using the Punnett Square Method.

Example:

Your doe is [(Dw)(dw)]

Your buck is [(Dw)(dw)]

Both being true dwarfs genetically.
Bred together they would produce the following,

25% of the offspring would be [(Dw)(Dw)] or Lethal Peanuts, like baby #1

25% of the offspring would be [(dw)(dw)] or False Dwarfs, like baby #4

50% of the offspring would be [(Dw)(dw)] or True Dwarfs, like baby #2 and #3.

Note:
You can use the Punnett Square method to calculate color genetics as well.
